Simpson Family Wellness FAQs

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic medicine is a natural, non-invasive approach to health care. By helping to improve postural imbalances and structural misalignments, the body is able to restore its own inborn ability to be healthy, without the use of drugs and medicine. Our musculoskeletal and neurological systems are continually bombarded with insults, all throughout life.  Maintaining proper biomechanics and functional integrity is an excellent approach to long-term health and wellness and chiropractic care is an excellent scientific approach in helping to improve mobility and prevent degenerative changes.

One of the main goals in Chiropractic is restoring or optimizing normal function.  A Doctor of Chiropractic determines individual posture and ranges of motion in a specific biomechanical approach.  Often times if there is abnormal postures, pain and discomfort may result due to overworked muscles attempting to compensate to create normal movement.  Through a series of adjustments as well as exercises, a Doctor of Chiropractic can help restore or maintain normal function and movement.

Dr. Simpson focuses her practice on restoring and maintaining proper function of the musculoskeletal nervous systems.  She prides herself in providing individualized attention for each patient and specializes in family-based care. Our patients range from pediatrics, pregnancy and geriatrics.

The chiropractic approach can provide you and your family better health now!

What to expect on your visits?

At your initial visit, a comprehensive health history and examination will be conducted, including: a postural assessment, range of motion exams, neurological integrity, orthopedic testing and a chiropractic evaluation. These examinations involve palpating muscles and evaluating proper joint mobility. With the consultation, the goal is to understand the factors impacting your state of health, including diet and exercise. The doctor will spend time with you discussing the results of your evaluations and create an individualized treatment plan.

As with all healthcare practitioners, we follow a standard routine to help us establish a diagnosis and treatment plan.  For this reason, please allow at least 45-60 minutes on the day of your consultation and first treatment.

Treatment may include spinal manipulation, soft tissue therapy, nutritional counseling and home care exercises. For additional follow-up visits, please expect 30-45 min visits.
