Dr. Anna-Marie Simpson, or “Dr. Anna,” as many of her patients call her, was raised in southwestern Ontario, but now resides locally as a fellow American Citizen. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Honors Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph, with a minor in neuroscience. Dr. Anna obtained her chiropractic education from the New York Chiropractic College and graduated summa cum laude and with honors in the degree of Doctorate in Chiropractic. At her graduation, Dr. Anna was the recipient of two additional awards, in acknowledgment of her hard work and dedication throughout her matriculation at NYCC. Dr. Anna was the winner of the Lorraine Welch Memorial Award, in recognition of her outstanding leadership roles as a teaching assistant and tutor and the Clarence N. Flick Memorial Award, in acknowledgment of her significant participation in numerous research projects.
During her time at NYCC, Dr. Anna sought to further her education and skills by concurrently undertaking a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition, a valued addition to chiropractic care. Dr. Anna is certified in Webster Pregnancy Protocol and for the past 5 years has treated the prenatal population in her community, helping to relieve pregnancy related pains and fetal malposition (e.g. breech). Once baby is born, Dr. Anna helps infants and children with a range of concerns including, latching, constipation, colic symptoms, and ear infection and specializes in correcting post-partum complaints.
Dr. Anna is licensed by the fully accredited New York State Chiropractic Board. She focuses her practice on restoring and maintaining proper function of the musculoskeletal nervous systems. She prides herself in providing individualized attention for each patient and specializes in family-based care. Dr. Anna serves a diverse patient population and performs a variety of chiropractic techniques, including manual manipulation, activator, and CST. She prides herself on giving equal attention to the body’s musculature, using techniques such as, ART, tool assisted, myofascial release, and PIR/PFS. She is certified in Functional Movement therapies – both Basic and Performance and uses both Rock Tape and KT tape.
Dr. Anna has had a multitude of experiences ranging from many outpatient clinic rotations to providing wellness care in the management of chronic complex cases with co-morbidities. Dr. Anna also trained under the highly respected and renowned, Dr. Donald Murphy of the Rhode Island Spine Center, as a non-surgical spine specialist. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center where she treated veterans and participated in research. Dr. Anna’s fellowship was partnered with the New York Chiropractic College, where she was an Assistant Instructor in the Chiropractic Clinical Sciences Department.
When she’s not at her chiropractic and nutrition services practice, Simpson Family Wellness of Camillus, New York, Dr. Anna can be found teaching at a number of colleges in Onondaga county. Dr. Anna also serves as the Medical Director and Chiropractor for the Uticuse Womens’ Rugby and Syracuse Mens’ Rugby teams.
Dr. Anna and her husband are dedicated AP parents of two beautiful children, both birthed successfully at home. Keep your eye out for her as she is on the steering committee for the BirthNetwork of CNY, is involved with her local Babywearing International group, local MOPS group and much more!
