Do my kids need Chiropractic?
Chiropractic care is a proven safe and gentle treatment to positively impact a child’s health. Throughout all phases of life, as early as pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood, the nervous system is continually taxed. For example, the experiences of birth can put strain on the baby’s nervous system and as they grow and learn to hold up their head, sit, crawl and walk, the spinal alignment can be strained.
“As the twig is bent, so grows the tree!”
The experiences of growing up can lead to nerve interference and immune dysfunction from the misalignments of the vertebrae in the spine and the cranium, which is also known as a “subluxation.” Subluxations can occur at any time, but when corrected early enough, there is less inevitable damage to functioning at optimal levels. Chiropractors examine the spine for these misalignments and use specific, yet gentle adjustments, to re-correct this interference, maximizing a child’s health potential.
The bones of the spine protect the spinal cord. And the spinal cord carries information from the brain to coordinate with all systems of the body, including the circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems. Although we as chiropractor’s do not “cure or treat” diseases, maximizing a child’s health potential by eliminating misalignments and nerve interference has shown tremendous positive effects on numerous conditions traced to nerve system stress, such as:
- Allergic reactions
- Bed wetting
- Chronic infections
- Digestive complaints
- Nursing difficulties
- Otits Media (ear infections)
- And much more!
